The Public is hereby informed that, following the decision taken today by the National Crisis Committee pertaining to torrential rainfall, the Bank of Mauritius has, with the approval of the Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, declared Friday 27 January 2023 a bank holiday by virtue of Section 63 of the Banking Act.
In specific cases where urgent transactions must be processed, entities regulated by the Bank should ensure that these tasks be handled remotely by their staff from the safety of their homes.
