The CBC Business Integrity Project is a project of the COMESA Business Council (CBC), in partnership with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), with the objective of building the capacity of the private sector in Africa to stem corruption and enhance their participation in reform initiatives to achieve a transparent and enabling business environment.
The project is divided into two components:
- Training of enterprises in 4 countries. The Project includes training of enterprises in four countries;
Rwanda, Ethiopia, Mauritius and Zambia, as a pilot phase.
- Development of the regional model code on anti-corruption compliance.
In line with the CBC Business Integrity Project, the Mauritius Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), the national focal point and vice-chair of the COMESA Business Council, in collaboration with the CBC andCIPE, is organizing the CIPE Anti-Corruption Compliance Training. The aim of the CIPE Anti-Corruption
Compliance Training is to apprise participants on the global practices of good governance and anticorruption within their enterprises.
The overall objective is the development of a Regional Anti-Corruption Compliance Code for enterprises as a guide that can used by businesses in developing and implementing anti-corruption compliance within their businesses.

About the COMESA Business Council (CBC)
COMESA Business Council (CBC) is a Business Member Organization and recognized private sector institution of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). It was established in 2005 with the objective of providing a platform for three core services namely, business support services and linkages, policy advocacy and membership development.
